TPC OVERVIEW

The Training and Placement Cell is integral part of any institute in today’s competitive world. The globalization of Pharmaceutical industry in turn demands for highly competent professionals. The Training and Placement Cell is headed by capable Training and Placement Officer supported with team is major determinant of overall outcome.

Samarth Institute of Pharmacy has Training and Placement Cell headed by Dr. Sagar E. Tambe who is relentlessly working towards imparting training, providing advanced knowledge and skill sets to make the students employable.

The primary objective of the Training and Placement Cell are to provide technical training to give hands on experience of the actual work environment which helps the candidates to identify and inculcate the necessary soft skill.

 The Training and Placement Cell conducts training sessions throughout the year, organizes seminars and workshops on various current topics, provide exposure to latest personality development modules, hospital and industrial visits, orientation programmes, personal counseling by the professionals, industry-institute interactions, etc. which has resulted into dramatic placements in the reputed pharmaceutical units across the country. The Training and Placement Cell has set high goals for itself i.e. if you can dream it, you can do it.

OBJECTIVES

  1. Training and Placement Cell is to guide students to choose right career and to give knowledge, skill, and aptitude and meet the manpower requirements of the Society and Pharmacy and non-pharmacy sector.
  2. To make concerted and consistent efforts to enhance employability through campus placements.
  3. To arrange guest lecturer and training sessions of alumni who are placed in Pharmacy and non-pharmacy sector to inspire and motivate the aspiring learners.
  4. To prepare and train aspiring learners to face campus recruitment by providing them exhaustive training with relevance to communication skills and overall development for personal professional grooming.

Training and Placement Office is presided over by Dr. Sagar E. Tambe a faculty member of the college. Pharmacy Career is presently one of the most sought after Career as the field is rapidly progressing day by day due to entry of many newer drug molecules, as well as expansion of the current market opening out new avenues of Pharmacy applications which demands a huge qualified and competent manpower. The Training & Placement Office provides a wide spectrum of Careers opportunities to the Students in renowned private and public sector companies along with Internship Offers.

We take care to groom our students according to the needs of the industry. We seek to open new avenues of knowledge and update the students with recent trends and changes in the global and domestic market and create positive attitudes in our students. Our undergraduate students undergo a thirty days training in their vacations facilitated by the Training and Placement cell in reputed industries/institutions/organizations, as part of their academic requirements. Our students get a lot of hands on training by regular industrial visits. Finally, we believe that there should be smart move for smart people with high aims.

PLACEMENT POLICY

The placement policy shall be applicable to all bonafide students of the college who are eligible as per the college criteria. In addition, the eligibility criteria specified by the organization time to time shall also be applicable.

Guidelines for Policy

  1. The role of TPO (Training and Placement Office) is of facilitator and counselor for placement related activities. Applying for a job is entirely the responsibility / decision of the student concerned.
  2. The placement is available to all the students registered with TPO through career plan survey form.
  3. There is no restriction on applying / appearing in interviews until the job is secured. A student will be considered to have secured a job if his/ her name is shortlisted or appears in the selection list.
  4. Students must keep their identity card with them at the time of interviews and produce the same when demanded by the concerned authority. Once a student has been shortlisted or selected by a company and receives related written communication, he / she shall not be allowed to appear for any other interview thereafter.

Equipping the students with relevant and conceptualized professional skills and guiding them towards a bright future and career across the world with the values of – ‘Sincerity’, ‘Hard Work’ and ‘Ethics’.

Motive

  • To assist students to develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions.
  • Maintaining and regularly updating the database of students.
  • Gathering information about job fairs and all relevant careers fair.
  • Coordinating with companies to learn about their requirements and recruitment procedures.
  • Identifying the needs and expectations of the companies to assist them in recruiting most suitable candidates.
  • Organizing pre-placement training/ seminars for students.
  • To assist students for training at the end year.
  • To provide resources and activities to assist the career planning process.
  • To act as a link between students, alumni, and the employment community.

Career Guidance:

  • Highlighting articles on departmental notice boards regarding Competitive & Industrial Career Opportunities.
  • Inform students about the available job opportunities in government as well as private sectors.
  • Arranging Motivational speech
