These libraries provide the necessary materials required for the above things to a person. A library is not just a place to get books, but it is a center for acquiring knowledge. A library contains various types of information, including books, magazines, newspapers, reference books, manuscripts, clippings and in academic libraries, the library is known as a repository of intellectual materials required according to the needs of the curriculum. Librarians expect students and readers to use it properly and increase their intellectual knowledge.

College libraries are designed to support the curriculum of the college or university providing access to textbooks, reference materials and other resources needed for coursework and other extra materials.
